The Institute for Women’s Policy Research and the Women’s Research and Resource Center at Spelman College will hold an event to release the first ever Status of Women in the South report. The report focuses on the economic and political power of women in 14 southern states, with a particular focus on women of color. The event panel will address the broad themes of power and diversity, and participating speakers will reflect on the pace of progress, the implications of the data for varying sectors of society, and how leaders and the public can catalyze change.
